What might still be acceptable on a short rental becomes particularly noticeable on a long trip: the quality of the equipment. At VANTOPIA every camper is equipped with more than 100 high-quality items worth approx. €3,000 - from the cast iron pan to the hammock to the well thought-out organisation system. We cut no corners on quality or care. Not even on long-term rentals.

Questions about long-term camper rental

Everything you need to know before your long-term booking — answered briefly and transparently.
From when does the long-term rental apply?+
From a rental period of 30 days our long-term conditions apply. The price is calculated on a daily basis — the monthly prices stated correspond to 30 days each. For shorter trips our regular daily rates apply with discounts from 7 days, which you can find on our price list.
What does parental leave in a camper cost?+
Example: 3 months in the Traveler Compact from Munich, 1 May to 31 July (92 travel days). May falls in mid season (31 days × €109.83/day), June and July in main season (61 days × €146.50/day). Together with the one-time service fee of €139 this gives a total price of approx. €12,478 — including all kilometres, fully comprehensive insurance and complete equipment. How does billing work at season transitions?+
Each travel day is assigned to the season it falls in. The discount level (1 month, from 2 months, from 4 months) is based on the total travel duration. This way you benefit from the long-term advantage even when seasons change — and pay less in the cheaper season than in the more expensive one. The season dates are identical to those of our short-term rental and differ depending on the location (Hamburg or Munich).
Which campers can I rent long-term?+
All models are available for long-term rental: the Dreamer (VW Bulli for 2–4 people), the Traveler in three variants (Compact, Classic and XL for up to 4 people) and the Cruiser (semi-integrated motorhome for up to 5 people). Availability depends on the desired period — feel free to get in touch with us.
Are there automatic models available for long-term rental?+
Yes. The Dreamer, Traveler Compact and Traveler Classic are available as automatic for a surcharge of €200 per month. The Traveler XL is available exclusively as automatic — without surcharge, as it is already included in the price. For the Cruiser, manual and automatic are both available, also without extra charge.
Is there an interim service for long rentals?+
For long-term rentals from 60 days we discuss service options in advance so that you are well taken care of on the road too. Simply mention it when you enquire — we will find a solution that fits your travel route.
What are the cancellation conditions?+
The same fair conditions apply as with our short-term rental: free cancellation up to 60 days before the start of your trip with full refund. Up to 48 hours before (or 14 days during main season) you receive a voucher with no expiry date. No special small print for long-term bookings. You can find all details in our terms and conditions.
Can I bring my dog?+
Of course — and at no extra charge. Simply let us know when booking so that we can reserve one of our pet-friendly vehicles for you. More tips on travelling with a dog can be found in our guide Camping with a dog.
From which locations can I book long-term rentals?+
VANTOPIA long-term rental is available from both locations: Hamburg and Munich. The season dates differ depending on the location — our price calculator takes this into account automatically. Personal handover and briefing on site are included at both locations.
