Thanks to plenty of storage space and plenty of room to move around, it also offers enough space for families. At the same time, its compact six-meter length, navigation system and reversing camera make it easy to drive.

You can get a discount of up to 10% for rentals of 10 days or more – depending on the season, you can save up to 30%! You can find an overview of all discounts here. The discount is calculated automatically in the booking system.

Service Flat Rate

For our extensive inclusive services, we charge a one-off service fee of €139 in addition to the rental price.

Deposit

We charge a deposit of €750, which is due at the start of the trip. You will of course get this back when you return the camper van.

The Traveler compact

Same Comfort, smaller Size

Brand new in our VANTOPIA family as of February 2023 – is the “little brother” of our Traveler. The layout and features are exactly the same as in the classic version – but thanks to the slightly more compact design of the kitchen, lower bed, bathroom and table, it is 60 cm smaller. This makes it perfect for a little more action when traveling – whether in the mountains or in the city.

Today, it is impossible to imagine Europe’s roads without the versatile models from camper van manufacturer Knaus: And many people feel the urge to travel when they hear the names “Schwalbennest” (Swallow’s Nest), “Südwind” (Southwind) or „Traveller”!

The Knaus panel van is the ideal camper van for inexperienced camping fans and those who still want to travel in comfort and with a camper van that is easy to maneuver. With us, you can rent the ideal camper van for your camping trip.

This is the Knaus Boxstar 600 Street:

At a compact six meters, the Boxstar offers everything a camper’s heart desires – a fully equipped kitchen with a large refrigerator, a spacious bathroom, a comfortable seating area and, thanks to the pop-up roof newly developed by the manufacturer Knaus, four spacious sleeping areas. The bed in the pop-up roof has a sleeping area of 200 x 135 cm and the warm air vent in the front area keeps you toasty warm even when camping in winter. The new LFI technology also offers better insulation compared to classic GRP roofs. The convertible function with integrated mosquito net ensures a pleasant sleeping climate on warm summer nights and, of course, the best views from your own roof terrace.

The Knaus company and its history

Like so many others, the story of the Knaus company begins with a vision of the founder, Helmut Knaus. Although he thought vacations were great in principle, he liked the idea of the freedom of always being at home wherever he was. And so the idea for his first product was born – the “Schwalbennest” caravan. As a trained architect, he had no problem developing a house on wheels, which he presented for the first time in 1961. The two swallows, which are still the Knaus logo today, symbolized the freedom that came with a caravan.

The small, round caravan “Schwalbennest”, also affectionately known as the cozy “Knutschkugel”, quickly achieved cult status and still has numerous fans today

From classic motorhome to panel van motorhome

After Knaus had established itself as a successful brand for caravans, the portfolio was expanded and the first Knaus motorhome, the Traveller, was introduced in 1988. The leading trade magazine Promobil, which is still published today, immediately named the camper van the motorhome of the year. 

Many other new models of different motorhome types followed, such as the Travel-Liner, the first integrated motorhome from Knaus, or the SUN TI, which with its large panoramic roof became the model for an entire category of leisure vehicles.

In 2003, Knaus also began converting panel vans into fully-fledged and comfortable motorhomes, thus starting another in-house success story.

An overview of the different types of motorhome

If you dream of a vacation far away from mass tourism but close to nature, a trip in a motorhome is probably just the thing for you. And you don’t have to buy an expensive motorhome – you can rent a camper van instead!

There are essentially four different types to choose from:

Semi-integrated motorhomes

The rear camping body is partially integrated into the base vehicle, while the driver’s cabin becomes part of the living area. The result is a comparatively compact motorhome that can usually still be driven with a normal car driver’s license (class B).

Fully integrated motorhomes

The driver’s cabin has been redesigned and fully integrated into the motorhome. This provides more space and a more homely feel. Usually larger and more expensive than semi-integrated models. 

Motorhomes with Alcove

Thanks to the roof structure on the driver’s cab (alcove), some of these motorhomes offer up to six beds and a spacious living area, regardless of their compact length. However, this also makes them considerably higher, which is noticeable in their handling and fuel consumption.

Panelvan Motorhomes

Super compact and maneuverable camper vans that are virtually the same as a regular van from the outside. Inside, however, like the ‘big ones’, they offer a kitchen, bathroom, seating area and because of the pop-up roof, up to four sleeping places.
